A Mackenzie masterpiece, unchanged for a century.
Heather-lined fairways, quarry-built par 3s and class Mackenzie greens on a free-draining Yorkshire moorland - largely at the great architect drew it over 100 years ago.
Every way in to Crosland Heath
Whether you have come to play, to join, or to mark an occasion, the next step is here.
Crosland Heath is one of the purest surviving examples of an Alistair Mackenzie design. Eighteen heathland holes laid out across the moor overlooking Huddersfield, played today much as they were in the 1920s.
MacKenzie's routing is the course's quiet genius. The par5s and par3s run in opposing directions, and the opening four holes turn through every compass point, so no two rounds play alike, and the moorland wind is never the same opponent twice.
The heath itself does the defending: firm, free-draining turf that plays all year, heather crowding fairway edges, and the celebrated "tower" par 3s built around old quarries - holes that demand, in equal measure, precision, strategy and a moment to take in the view.
Off the course, the welcome is as much part of Crosland Heath as the heather. The clubhouse bar and dining room look out over the 1st, 4th and 18th, our PGA professional team looks after golfers of every ability, and visitors and societies are welcomed daily.
“Explore all the Crosland Heath has to offer - from our competitive fixtures and social events to the simple pleasure of walking the fairways.”James Ward, Club Captain
